Tom Karpe
|
Tom was born in Krakow, Poland and came to the United States at a very young age. It was in Utica, NY that he was raised. Throughout his years he's come to love art in all of its forms. Especially, drawing, whether it be from life or imagination. After an exhaustive casting search, he was cast as Nick in 2001's Goodbye To You, the directorial debut of writer-director David Dellecese. From there he became a regular player with Catch Your Breath Productions, continuing to perform in 2002's Detour, and as gruff Detective Stan Romanus in The Death of Daniel Whately in 2004. After years of supporting roles, Tom Karpe plays second-banana no longer, taking on the titular character Eddy Anchor in the beach comedy Anchor Eddy's. Back in 2002, Karpe had this to say regarding choosing to work with director David Dellecese again: "It was quite a treat being able to work with Jon [Saulmong] again. We definitely have good chemistry and it shows. Plus, Dave is very talented and he is honing his craft. How could one not want to work with him?" When he is not tearing up the silver screen, Karpe remains a teacher of Art in Deaf Education in Upstate, NY. |
